Our path towards making unique, custom, coastal furniture started a few years back when I wanted a bar for my home that I could also use when traveling to trade shows and events. I only had a little space available at the house and no shortage of tequila and rum bottles to store. After a few hours of sketching and planning out my measurements, I came up with what would be the framework for our custom bar furniture sets.
I wanted to showcase my coastal artwork and add a rustic old Florida Keys feel using authentic reclaimed lobster trap wood. So I built the bar with that in mind and brought it to a few shows. People kept asking me about the bar and how to purchase one!
So we started selling our standard line of bars a couple of years ago, roughly right before the pandemic. After designing multiple bars for direct requests from clients, the feedback was incredible. It was clear to us that we needed to offer these bars online.
Since then, we have expanded our catalog to over ten core images we offer online, along with numerous custom designs we have created for clients looking for that “perfect piece.”
Last year we added the option of a pair of matching custom barstools to go with the bars. We have our recommendation as to which designs go best with each bar, but we want our customers to feel free to mix and match as they please.
I am excited to share these custom bars and stools with you today. These beautiful bars are the first products in what will be a robust line of coastal furniture products from Eddie Forbes Art.
Since we started producing furniture, we have had the opportunity to design, manufacture and build all different styles of custom bars and tables. It’s been a nice change of pace from painting imagery because, after all, my first job out of college was as a furniture designer. I’ve always had a passion for furniture design, and it is something that will continue to grow with the company.
We are proud to say that all furniture is made in-house and hand-built. We are a family-owned business, and I am fortunate to have the opportunity to work alongside my dad when building these bars.
